Crossing the Channel ferry to france

The Euro Tunnel (www.eurotunnel.com) is the quickest way across the channel with your car running from Folkestone to Calais. As typical with travel the sooner you book this the lower the price.

Ferries provide the cheapest crossing from the southeast of England with P & O ferries and DFDS seaways running multiple services daily in to Calais and Dunkirk (Pand&O and DFDS Seaways).

For those in the southwest Brittany ferries operate from Portsmouth, Poole and Plymouth to France which is a good option if you live nearby and can use the night sailing as an overnight stop.

Travelling from Ireland there are services operating to France from Cork, Rossiare and Dublin (Stena Line, Brittany Ferries and Irish Ferries).

Flying plane to ski resorts

Flying is the most popular option to the alps especially withthe increase in number of flights from regional airports. Geneva in Switzerland or Chambery in France are the airports with the most transfer options to La Tania and are therefore more economical for small groups. Grenoble and Lyon (St Exupery) are also close, but as there are less transfer options, so it is only worth looking at these airports if you can find a great flight deal. The main airlines to look at:

Airport Transfers

The right transfer option for your party depends on the number of people who are travelling together.

Car Hire (2-4 people)

Car hire is available at all our local airports and is ideal if you would like flexibility or on a short stay.

From Geneva airport there are a number of companies that provide car hire, these are listed on the airport website http://www.gva.ch/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-72/ . It is advisable to hire from the Swiss side of the airport rather than the French.

Small groups (5 or less people)

Shared transfers are best for small groups. There are numerous transfer companies, the following are local companies that typically offer the best value:

Snow Bus https://www.snowbus.co.uk/

Shared transfers with 3VT http://www.3vt.co.uk/shared_transfers.htm

Snow Drone http://snow-drone.com/shared-transfers/

Groups of 6-8 people

A private transfer in an 8 seater mini bus is the best value and is very convenient.

We recommend www.3vt.co.uk

Groups of 9 or more

Le Praz transfers, http://www.lepraztransfers.com/, have mini buses that seat up to 16 people and this can often be cheaper than hiring two smaller mini buses.
